Much better than I was expecting! The graphics were very good, although there were no funky dancers in the background like there are in the arcades.There's a great selection of well known tracks (not performed by the original artists) and lots of nice little touches like the funny comments in the background while you dance telling you to "Get off the dance-floor!", "What is that? I thought you could dance" or "Now you've got it" etc... Overall, I definitely recommend it. A great way to get the arcade experience without buying a playstation.

Just bought this and it is indeed so much fun!! I mean it's fun playing on the free Stepmania game. Just plug the mat in and everything works like wonder. The bundled Dance Dance Dance game is a bit awkward so I didn't bother trying it out.
I'm not sure what does 'slip resistant' in the description means. Because the mat moves all over the place when I start jumping around. Probably it's just the one I received. But I really don't mind that as a beginner.
Get this now!

I'm in my mid-20s, and find this dance mat hilarious, especially when it gets brought out at parties!! Ignore postings below saying it's not suitable for laptops, because it runs just fine on my laptop with the help of a usb/keyboard adaptor which cost less than a fiver!
I recommend this to anyone who is a couch potato and fancies a bit of exercise from the comfort of their own home!

We don't have a playstation and I was a bit apprehensive about whether it would be as good as the playstation dance mat some of my friends own. I'd never heard of a PC dance mat and was amazed when I found one on Amazon. When it arrived it was really good fun and worked just like the playstation version. I would recommend this to anyone its just amazing fun!

"Almost exact imitation of PS1 AND 2...!" - 25 December 2003
Excellent! This game is almost exactly the same as PS1! It has 2 modes: 4 step - normal, and 5 step - the diagonals and the centre button. Dance mat plugs in where keyboard should and mat lead has socket for keyboard with a switch at the top of the mat - you can toggle between the keyboard and the mat! Songs are recent cover versions, but there are 20 in all - progresivelly harder. Funky backrounds and commentary. All in all, an exellent product!

As soon as it was delivered it was out of the box, and straight on the PC. Installed in minimal time, about 3 minutes, with clear easy instructions. Not sure if it would be as good as other PS versions, but it soon crushed those fears. Great music, with great graphics. Easy to pick up and learn, though I'm not so good at the dancing it still keeps me entertained. You can not go wrong with this, sutiable for anyone who can jump around and look a fool.
Surely there will be many instances of this being shown on You've Been Framed!
Brilliant, and so worth the money.

"Fun, fun, fun all the way with this dance mat" - 19 April 2004
Well, I didn't know quite what to expect when I ordered this dance mat for my wife. She wanted to do some keep fit so I thought I'd get her one of these dance mats. What a hoot - from the second we got it out the box we've had a ball. the tunes are really good and the steps range from easy to down right impossible. We've laughed and laughed doing this and the hours sail by... Be warned though - it's absolutely addictive and exhausting - best £20 I've spent in a long time - highly recommended!!!
